The Catalog MCP is SELAT’s hosted discovery MCP server: free ranked search, input schemas, and live 402 price quotes over the federated x402/MPP capability catalog — 2,700+ paid services spanning image/video/audio generation, translation, web scraping, data enrichment, real-time data, and on-chain actions.
Discovery is hosted and free. Money never is. This server holds no wallet, no keys, and cannot spend. Paying happens locally through the SELAT CLI from your own Circle Agent Wallet (MPC self-custody), behind fail-closed caps, session budgets, and a kill switch.

Connect

Cursor, Codex, and Gemini: add an HTTP MCP server pointing at the same URL. The transport is stateless Streamable HTTP (a fresh server per request, per-IP rate limiting) — no session to manage.

How it fits

Search and quote here for free to discover and price a capability. When you’re ready to pay, selat_how_to_pay hands you the local commands — settlement happens through the SELAT CLI from your own wallet, never through this server. For reusable multi-step workflows, see Skills. Ranking is the same rankServices the CLI uses (from @selat-ai/selat-discovery), and every selat_search response reports the rankerVersion it ran, so hosted search and local search stay in lockstep — a divergence is visible rather than silent.
The Catalog MCP searches payable endpoints. It is separate from documentation search; use it to find and price capabilities your agent can pay for, not to look up these docs.
